Tasting the best pastry ice cream in Gelderland? You can do so at Banketbakker Jolink in the centre of Brummen. The milk required comes from Groot Zuidwijk farm!
At Dirk-Jan and Majella Schoonman's farm, the cows have plenty of room to graze. Dirk-Jan is in a long tradition of six generations of farming at this place. The young cattle are raised on their own farm. During the season, the cows walk outside as much as possible, day and night. The pastures are lined with hedges and trees, as much as one and a half kilometres, just like it used to be. Active efforts are made to promote biodiversity, for example by sowing herb-rich grassland, flower strips and winter food plots, and promoting soil life. Some of the fresh milk is supplied to confectioner Jolink, who uses it to make their famous ice cream and other products. Unfortunately, the milk from this farm cannot be sold to individuals.
