Audio route When the war came
No major battles. No nationally known war stories. Yet the war and German occupation had a great impact on Brummen's local society. Compulsory employment. Consequences if you did not comply. Fusilisation of residents. Shelling. Acts of bravery, resistance and sometimes betrayal. During this audio route, you cycle past 15 places where you can listen to a story from the residents' perspective about the war and liberation of Brummen. Places you would drive past today but where history has left its traces.
