Nature, food and community take centre stage. Here, local residents create a climate-friendly place for plants, trees, animals and people. This Food Forest is one of the first public food
forest parks in the Netherlands. A place where ordinary greenery is transformed into an edible landscape, which gets richer every year and where we meet each other. The design is based on permaculture. There is space
for hedges, forest edges and water collection. This sometimes makes it look more exciting and adventurous than parks designed mainly for people. The food forest was conceived and is maintained by a versatile team of volunteers. Everyone is allowed to help and harvest. Tours and workshops are held regularly. There are also neighbourhood meetings and we celebrate the seasons together. Food forest Nieuwe Erven belongs to this neighbourhood. Living, good food and nature come together here.
