Imagery, time and space, merged in process. That is the style of Piet van Middelaar's work. His studio and sculpture garden can be viewed during Art Brummen's Open Studio Route.
"What gradually emerges from the connection and movement between his hands and the stone", Pete continues to marvel. In his latest works, he sometimes also combines his sculptures with steel. Just as he may use other materials in his colourful paintings. "Amid all the words we utter every day, there is also a desire in me to make stones speak and let colours, mixed with all kinds of materials, tell their own story." He hopes that when seeing his work, visitors are left open to their own views and experiences. His sculpture garden and studio can be found at Burgemeester De Wijslaan 22 in Brummen and are open during Art Brummen's open studio route.
